Shanghai Masters: Rocket Takes Off With A Whitewash

Global Snooker The evening session of today’s Shanghai Masters got underway with only three of the four scheduled matches taking place. As reported earlier Stephen Maguire has had to withdraw from the event due to a shoulder injury, resulting in Barry Hawkins being given a walkover victory to the next round.

Shanghai Masters: Ding Delight for Chinese Crowd

The home fans at the Shanghai Masters will have been pleased to see their home favourite Ding Junhui advance to the Last 16 with an impressive showing against Stephen Lee. Ding will now play Stuart Bingham who caused an upset yesterday in beating Mark Selby.

Shanghai Masters: Crafty Ken KO's Robbo

Former World Champion Ken Doherty continued his good form with a massive 5-4 victory over Australian Neil Robertson earlier.  The Irishman will now go on to face either Barry Hawkins or Stephen Maguire in the Last 16.  That wasn’t this afternoon’s only surprise result as Mark Selby crashed out to Stuart Bingham.

Shanghai Masters: Hendry Claims New Landmark

The Shanghai Masters entered its second day today, and the drama increased massively.  The first four matches of today contained the defending champion Ricky Walden who got underway against Mark King and former seven times World Champion Stephen Hendry who faced fellow Scotsman Marcus Campbell.

Shanghai Masters: Wildcards fall to former World Champions

The Shanghai Masters got under way without any major upsets happening in the first session of the wildcard matches.  Of the 4 wildcards in action early on, only one of them was to gain a victory, former main tour player Tian Pengfei.
