Career Summary
35-year-old Northern Irishman Declan Hughes qualified for the 2008/09 main tour by finishing top of the Northern Ireland senior rankings last season, a good year for him as he also won the All-Ireland 9-Ball Pool Championship.
2008/9
The move up to the professional ranks proved to be a step too far for Declan however as his season turned out to be a disaster. As it turned out he lost each of the four matches he played, winning just five frames along the way and as a result finished 96th and last on the two-year list.
It is a shame that he chose not to compete during 2009, his final appearance coming at the UK Championship qualifiers where he went down 7-1 in the first session before withdrawing later that evening.
