Early Career

A professional since 1995, Ian Glover spent a number of seasons on tour in the late 1990’s, but following an absence between 2001-2009, has more recently stepped up his efforts to regain his professional place.

In 2009/10 Ian attempted to claim a tour place through the PIOS system, before turning his attention to PTC events and the annual Q School in recent years.

His best performance at a PTC event came in 2010 as he defeated Jeff Cundy, Marcus Campbell and Adam Wicheard to reach the last 32, before losing 4-1 to Barry Hawkins.

2013/14

During the 2013/14 season, Ian entered both the main European Tour events, as well as the series’ sub-events during which he won the third and thus finished top of the EBSA Order of Merit.

This meant that he was able to qualify for the 2014 EBSA play-offs, a tournament staged alongside the 2014 World Championship qualifiers and saw Ian defeat Welsh duo Gareth Allen and Jamie Rhys Clarke to regain his place upon the main tour from the following season.

2014/15

Ian’s return to the main tour in 2014/15 would prove difficult as he failed to win a match at a full-ranking event, twice losing in deciding frames to Vinnie Calabrese and Liang Wenbo.

His best results were to be last 32 runs at the AT1 and ET1 events early in the season, while his campaign would come to an end with a 10-7 defeat to Oliver Lines at the World Championship qualifiers in April.
