Early Career

Having first turned professional back in 2000, former lorry driver Chris Melling has spent four seasons on the main tour prior to the 2014/15 season, two last 64 runs representing his best finishes at ranking events.

Having entered PIOS events on a number of occasions, in 2014 Chris decided to enter the Q School event in a bid to regain a place on the circuit for the first time since the 2006/7 season.

Impressively, despite the fact that he had not entered a European Tour event earlier in the season, he was able to defeat Hassan Vaizie, Ben Fortey, Daniel Wells, Chen Zhe and Duane Jones to qualify from event 1 and earn a two-year tour card from the start of the 2014/15 season.

Pool Career

As well as his snooker career, Chris has also enjoyed an extremely successful career in pool, having twice been a world champion and being ranked as world number one at 8-ball pool. Click here to view more of Chris’ achievements in pool.

2014/15

Having qualified for the professional circuit, Chris was to find the tour tough going as he reached the last 64 of three full-ranking events, but was unable to progress further.

His results were enough to see him finish the season ranked 96th.
