In short
A former national champion at both under-16 and senior level, Dermot McGlinchey first turned professional back in 1991 and was most recently relegated from the tour at the end of the 2006/7 season.
Having now been handed the Northern Ireland nomination for 2010/11 however, Dermot is back on the tour and has a chance to demonstrate the talent that saw him reach the last four of the European Championship in 2004.
2010/11
Dermot experienced a tough start to the 2010/11 season as he won just a handful of matches early on, meaning that he would remain ranked well outside the world’s top 64 at the season’s first seedings revision.
The Northern Irishman’s fortunes were not to improve and having won just one match all season at the full ranking event tournaments, he finished the season ranked 91st as a result and was relegated from the tour.
