It has felt like a long wait since Neil Robertson won the last ranking event back in October but tomorrow (Monday), sees the start of the UK Championship qualifiers as 79 of the 96 main tour players will be in action over the next eight days.

Apologies for the lack of results so far, suffice to say it has been a very busy day at the office! However, the final day of the qualifiers has been unfolding and below are the results and brief reports.

The final qualifying round of the Shanghai Masters qualifiers is now underway and already it has been a mixed day for some of snooker’s top young talent. Incidentally the draw for the last 32 stage of the tournament is now available here on Global Snooker and I will be posting a full preview of it during the coming days…
Night one of the first Pro Challenge event at the NSC has now been completed and it has been a night of mixed fortunes for the Scots in action. Note that tomorrow I will be in Leeds for day two and you can follow my updates over on Twitter…
