PTC1 2011/12: Mad Monday

PC David Rathband Plays Jimmy White at the Crucible!
PC David Rathband, who survived being shot by Raoul Moat, thrilled a packed house at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield on Saturday when he played Jimmy White in a frame of snooker.
Aided, and sometimes misguided, by John Virgo, David received a standing ovation as he played in his own words… “some blinding shots”
PC Rathband, who runs the London Marathon this Sunday, was special guest at the launch of the Snooker Legends Tour.

Following the speculation concerning the withdrawal of Jimmy White from this week’s tournament due to what World Snooker described as ‘visa problems’, Jimmy’s management group On Q Promotions have today issued a statement which will hopefully clarify the position…

White Withdraws from China Open
Bad news for Jimmy White fans as it has today been revealed that he has been forced to withdraw from this week’s China Open due to ‘visa problems’. As a result, local wildcard Tian Pengfei will receive a walkover and now meet Mark Selby at the last 32 stage on Wednesday evening.
