On his Grand Prix run:

“I have gained a lot of confidence from the week,”

“Against Joe, it was the first time I had won on television so that was a big thing for me.

“Then there was a lot of pressure in the quarter-final, just because it was against Ronnie. He is probably the best ever to play the game so the pressure was massive, especially in the last frame, but I came through it.

“I felt confident of beating John in the semi-final, especially after coming back from 4-1 down to 4-4, but he played well in the last couple of frames to win it.

“But it was a good week. I held myself together against Ronnie and I fought back well against John so I know I can compete against the best players. I am not going to be scared of playing anyone.”

On his invitation to the Austrian Open pro-am event this weekend:

“I got the phone call just after getting through to the semi-final,”

“I was on television three times last week so more people will have seen me.

On this ranking ambitions:

“My aim for the season is to qualify for a few more events, move up the rankings and get into the top 20. I played pretty well in Glasgow but I need to keep my safety tight and work on my break building if I want to get to more semi-finals and finals.”
