Snooker legends Alex Higgins and Jimmy White are rolling back the years and coming to Preston.
The Hurricane and Whirlwind were regular visitors to the city when the Guild Hall hosted major tournaments. On Saturday, December 6, they’re playing a best-of-seven exhibition game at the Regal Snooker Club, Brook Street, which is sure to be an explosive clash.

Higgins and White will also be taking on players from the local snooker and pool leagues as part of the evening’s entertainment.

Chris Cookson, who has organised the event, said: “Alex and Jimmy are two of snooker’s biggest and exciting names, people still love to watch them.

“They have played each other in the major tournaments at the Guild Hall, and have both visited Preston for exhibitions, but this is the first time they’ve been together for such an event in the city.

“This will be a really entertaining and exciting evening, the chance to see two snooker legends in action.

“We’ve got players from the snooker and pool leagues involved in a tournament at the moment for the right to play against Alex and Jimmy on the night.”

VIP tickets, which include a buffet and an introduction to the players, cost £50, while main room tickets are priced £20, the event starting at 7.45pm. They are available by contacting the Regal Snooker Club on 01772 824861.
