PIOS Event Eight Information

pontinslogo

While the big guns have now completed their season, the PIOS series still has one all-important event to go and that gets underway today as eight further main tour places will be settled…

With Xiao Guodong, Bjorn Haneveer and Lee Page looking safe to finish inside the top eight next season, five places are still up for grabs as it only takes one bad result here and those players currently occupying the spots will be looking anxiously over their shoulders.

At present, Craig Steadman (surely he has to make it this time after so many near-misses), Noppadol Sangnil, Shokat Ali, Chris Norbury and Alfie Burden currently make up the top eight, but with 300 points on offer for an event win and at least 20-30 players within 300 points of 8th place, there is still all to play for.

    Yeah I saw :(

Then again he was playing at 11:30am and the last I saw of him at midnight he didn’t look like he was going to sleep in a hurry, then he had a train at 6:20am :D

Also i see Steadman Lost, shouldn’t have too much effet on his top eight place but stranger things have happend :)

And Noppadol Sangnil received a w/o against Thepchaiya Un-Nooh, so no more ‘threat’ of Thepchaiya stealing important points from the top-8 contenders, in this very last event.

(dunno the reason for his withdrawal but… could it be… ‘on purpose’ ?)

God if Steadman doesn’t make it again it would be so cruel.

With steadman going out in round 1, what has to happen for him not to make it.

As you say it’s his 8th attempt it would be great for him to finally get on the main tour, he is safe now surely???

To be honest it’s pretty tough to work out because on the PIOS they work it out using their best seven events from the eight staged and with so many involved it’s even harder to predict. I don’t think that he is definitely safe though, just watch this space I guess…

Lisowski’s looking good and I’d say favourtie to win at the moment.
Hopefull Adam Duffy will win and get a tour place!

For those who were worrying about Steadman, he’ll make it apparently, BUT at the very last place!
