UK Venue, China Dates Confirmed

There seems to be something in the air at the moment as far as the confirmation of dates and venues is concerned as following the news on the Premier League yesterday, World Snooker have updated their provisional calendar too…

As is confirmed over on the World Snooker website, the UK Championship will again be staged in Telford and will run from December 5th to December 13th. This will be the third successive year that the tournament will have taken place there and it will be interesting to see who can stop Shaun Murphy from defending what is the second biggest ranking event of the season.

Additionally, World Snooker have also confirmed that tickets will go on sale for the event on September 14th, so if you are interested in attending the event, be sure to put that date in your diary.

Finally the dates for the China Open, Masters qualifiers and World Championship qualifiers have also been confirmed. To view those, please visit my calendar page by clicking here.

As an aside, if you know of any other dates for professional tournaments that I could add to my calendar, please let me know.

EDIT: David Hendon over at Snooker Scene Blog has highlighted an important issue also mentioned in the article concerning the sale of tickets from unauthorised sources. As he says:

“There are a number of online ticket agencies offering tickets for snooker tournaments.”

“Do not, do not, do not buy tickets from them. Only purchase tickets from the official ticket supplier as stated on the World Snooker website.”

“There is an online agency currently selling tickets for the Northern Ireland Trophy. This tournament is not taking place.”

“These people do not deserve your money and buying tickets from them will only end in disappointment.”
