While things have been rather quiet on the news front during the last few days, this week sees many of snooker’s top professionals back in action. Click below for a reminder of exactly what is going on…
EDIT: Format now available for the Beijing International Challenge
Sangsom Six-Red World Grand Prix 2009
Starting on Tuesday 7th will be the Sangsom Six-Red World Grand Prix, won last year by Ricky Walden as he got his season off to a terrific start. The field this year however is even better as 23 professionals including reigning world champion John Higgins pick up their cues after an extended break.
I understand that the event will be televised locally so hopefully some footage will come to light over the coming days.

That Euro-Asia challenge is not really a new thing. A very similar event took place in Hong-Kong in 2007. Reports can still be found in Dave’s blog http://snookerscene.blogspot.com/2007_07_01_archive.html
Europe beat Asia, largely down to Ronnie and John Higgins won the individual event.

I think the automatic posts are possibly not related to snooker…

I remember that tournament actually, didn’t know if it was the same one or not.
And yeah I know what you mean about the related posts

The Sangsom 6-red is indeed being shown live in Thailand, I have spoken with the promoters about live streaming but we didn’t really get anywhere. I know that they were in talks with other International broadcasters so some of this tournament may be shown in highlights programmes later this year.
