Following on from yesterday’s story concerning the allegation that John Higgins had attempted to place a bet on himself during last year’s world final, the News of the World have now revealed a further video of Pat Mooney which relates to the match-fixing allegations from last week…

- To view the video of Mooney please click here.
As you can see from the above links, the most recent development sees Mooney allegedly naming both Graeme Dott and Mark Selby as potential players who could be involved in match-fixing during the World Series events. It is interesting to note that Mooney is wearing a different shirt to the previous video, suggesting that there were at least two meetings held between the parties.
Also it should be made clear that while the potential involvement of Dott and Selby was discussed by Mooney in the video, there is absolutely no suggestion that the two players were aware of or agreed to any deal to fix matches.
You can also read the views of Mark Selby on the whole affair in general over at his Eurosport blog here.

I wish the NotW would lay out the whole story and get this thing over with. They are dragging it out, apparently releasing little bits at a time, thereby selling loads more copies. Hopefully the investigation officials have had full disclosure of all their video material so that they have the big picture – something we probably will never get. Not exactly objective journalism….!
