German Masters 2011: Qualifying Draw Released, Wildcards Named

World Snooker have today released the qualifying draw for the season’s next ranking event, the German Masters. Furthermore the details of seven of the eight wildcard players have been confirmed. Click below for the details…

As will immediately become apparent, the format for these qualifiers is slightly different from the norm as there will be just three rounds as opposed to the usual four. This means that instead of the first round seeing the players ranked 33-96 face off, instead the players ranked 49-96 will all be involved, the second round will see the winners play each other before the final round sees the players ranked 17-32 enter the fray.

The qualifiers do begin this Tuesday and once the final world rankings at this seedings revision are confirmed following the UK final on Sunday, the draw for the last 32 stage will be announced and added to the drawsheet above. I also know that the table needs to be fixed slightly so that all of the cells are the same size but I shall do that later this evening.

In addition, World Snooker have also confirmed that the eight wildcards involved in the tournament will be as follows:

  • Luca Brecel
  • Lasse Munstermann
  • Mario Wehrmann
  • Maurice Le Duc
  • Hans Blanckaert
  • Tomasz Skalski
  • Stefan Kasper
  • TBC (World Snooker wildcard)

The wildcards will play the eight lowest seeded professional qualifiers.
