PTC Finals: Day Three Results

Last 16

Marcus Campbell 4-3 Stuart Bingham
Michael Holt 4-3 Barry Pinches
Stephen Lee 4-1 Mark Davis
Mark Selby 4-0 Andrew Higginson
Martin Gould 4-2 Judd Trump

This evenings two winners were Mark Selby and Martin Gould, players who have done well during the course of this season and are both well capable of going all the way in this event. For Mark, his win came against Andrew Higginson who didn’t really perform tonight and now finished for the season, I imagine will be looking forward to a bit of a break before the PTC’s start up again in June. Selby meanwhile will now come up against Mark Williams in the quarter-finals, a mouth-watering repeat of their recent German Masters final.

Martin meanwhile produced a very good standard this evening to see off Judd Trump who despite a century break in frame five, missed far too often when in amongst the balls and never looked like turning it around. Next up for Martin will be a clash with Michael Holt at 10am tomorrow thanks to some rather dubious scheduling.

Through earlier in the day were Marcus Campbell and Michael Holt following two matches that went either way, while Stephen Lee ensured that he would close the gap on opponent Mark Davis in the rankings to just 50 points as they battle for a season-end top 16 spot.
