Dott Withdraws from Australian Open

There has been speculation recently on Twitter as to whether we might see a few withdrawals from the Australian Open this month and it was today confirmed at World Snooker that Graeme Dott has become the first, citing neck pain experienced during the recent Wuxi Classic tournament…

Bad news for Graeme then but good news for David Gilbert and James Mifsud who will now be fighting over a last 16 spot when they meet in the opening day’s wildcard round.

Hopefully Graeme will be fighting fit come the PTC2 event which will be staged at the South West Snooker Academy in Gloucester in early August.
