Looking briefly at the drawsheets, notable points include that John Higgins will make his 2012/13 season début at the UKPTC2 event in Gloucester, while Ding Junhui is also among the entrants for the ET2 event in Poland.

non entrants are as follows:
(obviously no Hendry, Jogia and Ronnie in any)
PTC2 – Ding, Doherty, Ebdon, Lee, Ziegler
ET1 – Ding, Maguire, Ebdon, Burnett, Hicks, O’Neill, Ziegler
ET2 – Williams, Carter, Ebdon, Ziegler
so for someone like Ding he has to enter PTC3 and 4 to be able to qualify for tour finals for Euro and UK PTCs (I think the Asian route will be his main aim)
individual PTCs will be less important to players under prize money system – but qualifying for finals tournament will become very important.
