O’Sullivan To Not Defend UK title

Today saw the entry deadline pass for the upcoming UK Championship event and with it confirmation that Ronnie O’Sullivan will not return to the Barbican Centre in York this year to defend the title that he won nearly 12 months ago.

Of course O’Sullivan is yet to enter a professional event since his defeat to Stuart Bingham at the quarter-finals stage of the World Championship back in April and it remains to be seen as to when the five-time world champion will pick up his cue again in competitive play.

The next major event for Ronnie will of course be the Masters in January, but in the meantime there will still be a strong field present in York next month, with the draw for the event set to be released next week after the conclusion of the International Championship.

Why can Ronnie be number four in the rankings without playing one single Tournament since the WC?
There must be something terribly wrong with the new price money system!

Mainly because he won £150k at the UK Champs last year. His Welsh Open money still counts as well I guess.
