PSB Update

WPBSAsquareI have recently received a few comments on the blog regarding the lack of new content following my announcement last year that I would be joining the WPBSA on a full-time basis.

To clarify, my blog has since continued over at WPBSA.com here, with all of the ranking and tour structure blogs that I have worked on here at PSB since 2008. The updated provisional ranking lists on the other hand have continued to be posted here at PSB, pending the construction of a new WPBSA website.

I am happy to say that the build of the new site is well underway and it is hoped that it will be ready to launch for the start of the new season, or certainly not long after that point. This site will contain all of the provisional list, points to defend tables and various ‘race’ lists that I have managed here, in addition to preview and round-up blogs around tournaments analysing the latest position and implications of results.

More news will follow in due course, but for now keep an eye out for my blogs and much more snooker news at WPBSA.com ahead of the start of the 2016/17 season!

A New Beginning

crucible

Little did I know back in August 2008 when I started Pro Snooker Blog that it would go on to be the start of something that would change my life, but over seven years on it is now no exaggeration to say that.

With that in mind, today I have some important news for everyone who reads this site. I am delighted to announce that I have been offered and have accepted a full-time position at the WPBSA.

This does mean that there will be changes in respect of PSB, however you need not fear because I will still be working hard to provide the same service that I have during the past seven years and much more going forwards.

While I very much see this as not the end, but rather a new beginning, I do want to take a moment to reflect on how snooker has changed since PSB launched and to thank some of the people who have helped me along the way.

Tech Troubles

A very short post today to apologise for the lack of posts over the weekend and more importantly, the fact that I have not updated the latest projected seedings following the Ruhr Open yesterday. (EDIT – these are now up to date)

Unfortunately I am having a few tech issues at the moment with the blog that are preventing me from doing so, but hopefully normal service will be resumed as soon as possible!

PSB Survey Results 2015: Part One

balls2

A few weeks ago here at PSB I launched the first ‘snooker survey’ here at this blog, in an attempt to get some feedback from snooker fans across the world as to how they follow the sport.

Thanks to everyone who took part and today I take my first look at some of the results, including general questions, following snooker and social media…

Player Profiles Updated

As ever, while the professionals have had a few rare weeks off ahead of the new season while the amateurs have battled it out at Q School, here at PSB I have been working on the annual marathon of updating my player profiles which you can now view here.

All pages for professionals during 2014/15 have now been updated, but if anybody spots any mistakes or any players would like me to change anything, please let me know.

In terms of the new professionals for next season, I have now added template pages for all of them, but if any readers have any information or photos that I may use to fill in the blanks, again please do get in touch either by leaving a comment below, or emailing me at prosnookerblog@gmail.com
