Lisowski heads PIOS top 8

Congratulations to 18-year-old Jack Lisowski who today won what looks like being the final ever event of the PIOS to confirm his promotion to the main tour and in doing so break Kuldesh Johal’s all-time points record. Click below to read who the other seven qualifiers are…

The top eight players at the end of the season are as follows:

Having started the season by reaching the final of event one, both Jack Lisowski and Liam Highfield have not let that early promise go to waste as the youngsters have secured their main tour places by finishing at the top of the PIOS ranking for 2010/11. Indeed it has been quite a season for the young players that I have been following this year as Scotland’s Anthony McGill has also ensured that he will finally step up to big time next season while Kyren Wilson will be another tour debutant.

As you will see by the fact that they already have profiles here at PSB though, both Paul Davison and Jamie Jones are no strangers to the main tour and both will make an immediate return having lost their places at the end of the 2008/9 season.

Completing the eight are Jamie O’Neill who returns after a two-year absence, and Justin Astley who last competed as a professional during the 2005/6 season.

Profiles will be created for those players (and the other tour newcomers), during the coming weeks so if anyone has any information about them or photos that I could use then I would be pleased to hear from you. I will also post a guide to the remaining tour places for next season tomorrow…
