On the table at least Jimmy White has enjoyed a strong start to the season but it seems as though he might be in trouble off it as according to the Sunday Mirror he was arrested by the police in early August…

In essence it is alleged that White has been caught speeding while driving in Prestatyn and has perverted the course of justice by passing on the penalty points to a friend.
A police source is quoted as saying:
“A car belonging to Jimmy White was caught on camera speeding and he was sent a ticket. But when the fine was paid a 60-year-old man claimed that he had been driving.
“As a result of investigations a warrant was issued for their arrest and both were questioned.”
“A 47-year-old man and a 60-year-old man were arrested on August 4 on suspicion of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
“Both men, the 47-year-old from Surrey and the 60-year-old from Jersey, have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.”

According to the Mirror, Jimmy’s car was caught speeding on police camera in Prestatyn on August 4… Well, Jimmy himself definitely was in Prestatyn that day as he played Bjorn Haneveer in the Shanghai Masters qualifiers. So, it’s interesting at what time exactly the police photo was taken. Before / after the match, or maybe during the match which would make the perfect alibi for Jimmy…

More of a whirlwind in his car these days then?? How do seemingly hundreds of drivers get away with it and yet Jimmy manages not to!!
