Can’t agree with present p;ayers winning a legends event and 10K!! Why can’t there be another ranking event rather than line the pockets of the wealthy already. Im sure anyone outside of the top 10 would have welcomed the chance for ranking points and 10K! Surely this does nothing for the game?

I can see both points of view, on the one hand I think it’s a bit daft to allow the likes of Hendry and Doherty to play because obviously the likes of Thorburn are going to be soundly beaten. Maybe from this point of view they should limit it to over-50′s.
On the other though I suspect that the paying public would soon get bored of watching the likes of even Alex Higgins and Cliff Thorburn scrapping around struggling to make a 20. Perhaps they think that the current players are required to keep the standard high and put on a show.
In fairness this tournament has nothing to do with World Snooker so I don’t think that ranking points are an issue here. Obviously we want more ranking events but that’s another issue entirely…
