Congratulations to Neil Robertson who shortly before 1am this morning defeated Scotland’s Graeme Dott 18-13 to win the 2010 Betfred.com World Championship and in doing so become the first Australian to lift the famous old trophy in its 83-year history. As well as receiving a cheque for £250,000, Neil will now also move up to a career high ranking of number two in the world for next season.
Arriving home beyond 4am means that I will not be able to post a full report right now but I have been able to update the final season rankings and will post more on the final day at the Crucible tomorrow morning.
But again, congratulations to Neil who is a thoroughly nice bloke and a well-deserved winner of this year’s world championship.
