10 Predictions for 2012

Happy new year to everyone, if 2012 is anywhere near as good as 2011 then we will have a fun 12 months ahead. As was the case last year, purely for a bit of fun I’ve come up with a few predictions to have a giggle at in 12 months time…

My 10 predictions for 2012:

  • Judd Trump to end the calendar year as the world number one.
  • Neil Robertson to win a second world title at the Crucible.
  • Ronnie O’Sullivan to lose his top 16 status at one seedings cut-off, but to regain it by the end of the year.
  • A player to be the subject of a formal disciplinary hearing due to comments on Twitter.
  • The introduction of a money-based ranking list at a future date to be officially confirmed.
  • A former world champion will publicly contemplate retirement.
  • Ali Carter to come close to losing his top 16 place early in 2012/13, but hang on.
  • The format for the Premier League to be overhauled once again.
  • A Chinese player other than Ding Junhui to win a professional tournament.
  • Mark Allen to win his first ranking event title.
