Q School 2014: Entry List Confirmed

WS QSchool 225

This Friday saw the entry deadline pass for this year’s Q School tournament, which will see the world’s best amateur players battle it out for eight tour cards to start next season…

With the passing of the deadline, we now know who will be in action at the South West Snooker Academy next month and you can view the full list here.

Of course the list will yet be added to with current professionals following the confirmation of who will be relegated from the tour following the World Championship, but interesting we can already see that a number of professionals have already entered, including Chinese trio Li Yan, Zhang Anda and Chen Zhe.

Who else might you recognise? There are a number of former professionals including Shokat Ali, Mike Hallett, Hans Blanckaert, Kacper Filipiak, Reanne Evans, Michael Georgiou and Lucky Vatnani, while pool’s Chris Melling has also thrown his hat into the ring.

Add to those names promising amateurs who have been involved in pro events this season such as Duane Jones and Shane Castle, as well as current professionals such as Steve Davis who could yet have to re-qualify through Q School and it looks set to be a very competitive pair of tournaments down in Gloucester…

Has Steve’s son Greg entered again Matt? Wouldn’t it be interesting if they played each other!

    • Matt

He’s not on the list above, subject to any late inclusions given Roy’s comment above…

The list is still the same as was on there early Friday, so perhaps as at today there are still some players entries to process – either that or no last minute entries … whatever, a good list of players, 138 on the list although some entries were ‘in’ before the IBSF World Under 21 was moved to clashing dates (10-18 May), so maybe not all players who have entered will be there.
