As will quickly become apparent from perusing the drawsheet, the entry list for the second European Tour event of the new season is a strong one, with all but three of the provisional top 16 among the field.

In terms of absentees, reigning world champion Ronnie O’Sullivan will not be making the trip to Holland, while Mark Allen, Ding Junhui and Graeme Dott have also elected to give this one a miss.

Indeed as with the PTC tournament held earlier this month in Sofia, a large majority of the Asian players have opted to miss this event, perhaps understandably so with a gap in the calendar following the event to accommodate the World Games the following week.

The event will also see Stephen Maguire make his first appearance of the new season, the Scot having chosen to sit out the opening four events, while I notice that Dave Harold has again decided not to enter, which on the face of it appears to be a little strange.

The event will take place between 18-21 July 2013 at the Topsport Centrum in Rotterdam.
