A year ago ahead of my tenth year visiting the Crucible Theatre for the World Championship, I took a look back at my first three years between 2005-7, recalling the various experiences that had helped draw me to the sport and ultimately end up writing this blog.

At 5-2 down earlier this afternoon, Mark Selby looked to be all at sea but tonight he leaves Berlin as the 2015 German Masters champion following a 9-7 victory against Shaun Murphy, avenging his defeat to the Magician at last month’s Masters.
Mark takes home the top prize of €80,000, which is also enough to see him reclaim the world number one spot for the first time since December…
Good friends they might be off the table, but tomorrow Shaun Murphy and Mark Selby will be the best of enemies, as they clash in the final of the 2015 German Masters following semi-final victories yesterday.
We have already enjoyed a number of memorable matches during the 2014/15 snooker season, but with all four matches this evening going to deciding frames, including a 147 break for Judd Trump and plenty of drama aside, tonight proved to be a session that will live long in the memory for those who had a ticket for the quarter-finals of the 2015 German Masters.

Prior to the start of the tournament, Shaun Murphy told the BBC that he wanted to win the Masters tournament within the next ten years, but as it was to turn out, he only needed a week as this evening he has defeated world number one Neil Robertson 10-2 to claim the £200,000 top prize.
